	East Vantage is protected by a network of coastal ~~gun batteries~~ positioned to cover harbor approaches, restricted waters, and likely routes of unauthorized entry.		East Vantage is protected by a network of seven coastal defense complexes distributed around the island perimeter. These installations form the first layer of defense for Gondara's eastern maritime gateway and are positioned to cover harbor approaches, major shipping corridors, restricted waters, and likely routes of unauthorized entry.

	~~These defenses are~~ intended to ~~deter hostile or unauthorized vessels from testing Gondaran control of~~ the island ~~perimeter~~.		As of 1939, each complex contains a twin 225mm coastal artillery turret, extensive underground magazines, fire-control facilities, anti-aircraft positions, and a permanently assigned Marine garrison. Additional turret positions have been prepared as part of an ongoing expansion program intended to strengthen the island's defenses during the coming decade.

	~~The batteries are~~ supported by ~~harbor patrol craft, Coast Guard frigates, naval units, air patrols, and maritime observation systems.~~		Each coastal defense complex is supported by:

In the event of attack, these forces are expected to hold their sectors until reinforced by naval, Coast Guard, or mainland military units.

			The coastal batteries operate in coordination with harbor patrol craft, Coast Guard frigates, naval forces, maritime patrol aircraft, observation airships, and island radar stations. Together these systems form a layered defensive network designed to ensure that any hostile force approaching East Vantage is detected, tracked, and engaged long before reaching the island's critical infrastructure.

			Although East Vantage serves primarily as a commercial and transportation hub, its defenses reflect the island's strategic importance. The Republic considers the security of its gateway states essential to the protection of the mainland, and the island's coastal defenses exist to ensure that no foreign power can establish a foothold within easy striking distance of Gondara.
