&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Titanwood&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; (&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Titanus gondarensis&amp;#039;&amp;#039;) is an enormous tree species endemic to Gondara and the defining megaflora of the continent&amp;#039;s three great Titanwood forests.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Even ordinary mature Titanwoods reach heights that would make them exceptional among almost any other trees in the world. Under the most favorable conditions, the species approaches a biological ceiling of approximately &amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;500 feet in height&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, with trunks reaching as much as &amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;33 feet in diameter&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Titanwoods do not naturally occur throughout Gondara. Their great size depends upon the specific environmental conditions found within the Cathedral, Talakar, and Titania forest systems, and the character of the trees differs considerably between those environments.&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;br /&gt;
Titanwoods represent the upper known limit of arboreal growth under Gondaran environmental conditions.&lt;br /&gt;

The largest known Cathedral Titanwood stands approximately &amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;487 feet&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; tall.&lt;br /&gt;

The combination of environmental conditions within the Vidar longitudinal valley makes the Cathedral the most favorable known habitat for sustained Titanwood growth.&lt;br /&gt;

=== Talakar Forest ===&lt;br /&gt;

Talakar represents the second great Titanwood environment.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Common mature trees range approximately &amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;420–460 feet&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, while older specimens may reach &amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;460–480 feet&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;.&lt;br /&gt;

Talakar is also unique among the great Titanwood forests because controlled felling of living Titanwoods is permitted there. This has made the forest the principal source of commercially harvested Titanwood timber.&lt;br /&gt;

The Titania Basin supports the smallest average Titanwoods of the three great forests, although the term &amp;quot;small&amp;quot; is entirely relative.&lt;br /&gt;

Typical mature trees range approximately &amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;360–400 feet&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, with high-mature specimens reaching &amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;400–420 feet&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;.&lt;br /&gt;

== Tree of Titania ==&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The great exception to the Titania Basin growth pattern is the Tree of Titania.&lt;br /&gt;

Standing &amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;498 feet&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; tall, she is the largest measured Titanwood and the largest known tree in the world.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Her existence is particularly remarkable because she does not grow within the Cathedral, where the species reaches its greatest average size, or within Talakar&amp;#039;s more productive forest.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Instead, she rises from a Basin forest whose mature trees are substantially shorter.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
For this reason, the Tree of Titania serves as the principal observed model for the extreme upper biological limit of the species.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
== Forest Structure ==&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The extraordinary height of Titanwoods creates forests fundamentally different from conventional woodland.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The upper canopy may stand hundreds of feet above the ground, while enormous trunks and widely spreading crowns create a layered vertical environment beneath it.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Light, moisture, undergrowth, and animal activity vary dramatically between the forest floor and upper canopy.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The sheer scale of mature trees also alters human movement through Titanwood country. Sightlines beneath the canopy are frequently limited by massive trunks, roots, terrain, and lower vegetation despite the enormous height of the forest overhead.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Titanwood forests therefore function not merely as collections of unusually large trees, but as distinct ecological environments built around extreme vertical scale.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
== Timber ==&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Titanwood produces exceptionally dense and durable structural lumber.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Its greatest practical advantage is not simply strength, but scale. Mature trees can produce structural members of lengths and cross-sections difficult or impossible to obtain from ordinary timber.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
This made Titanwood particularly valuable wherever long uninterrupted beams were required.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The wood is, however, difficult to work.&lt;br /&gt;

Its density greatly increases the labor, tools, and time required for cutting, shaping, drilling, fastening, and finishing. This makes Titanwood expensive even where raw timber is available.&lt;br /&gt;

With the decline of wooden warships and commercial sailing vessels, the principal prestige use of Titanwood shifted toward heavy civil construction.&lt;br /&gt;

By the modern era, Titanwood became particularly associated with &amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;bridge construction&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Long structural beams, heavy support members, and specialty applications continue to justify the cost of working the timber where ordinary lumber would require multiple joined components.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Steel and concrete prevent Titanwood from becoming a universal bridge material, but the wood remains valued where its unusual combination of length, mass, and structural strength provides a practical advantage.&lt;br /&gt;
