Mobile Infantry Battalion | |||
</div> | |||
A '''Mobile Infantry Battalion''' is the primary battalion-level maneuver formation of the [[Army of Gondara]]. Built around rapid motor movement, immediate entrenchment, distributed sustainment, and layered battalion firepower, the formation is designed to reinforce breakthrough operations, secure contested terrain, and absorb enemy counterattack until brigade-level sustainment and follow-on forces arrive. | |||
The battalion is designed under the Gondaran doctrine that '''violence wins battles; endurance wins wars'''. Its rifle companies provide the primary maneuver body, while battalion-level heavy weapons, skirmishers, engineers, medical support, signals, sustainment, and transport sections extend the formation’s ability to fight as a coherent independent force for approximately forty-eight hours. | |||

The Mobile Infantry Battalion maintains a reserve pool of crew-served weapons intended for convoy defense, emergency perimeter security, ambush response, and temporary reinforcement of transport vehicles during movement operations. | |||
These weapons are not assigned to dedicated combat sections and do not increase battalion manpower requirements. Instead, they are mounted as needed using the built-in '''Universal Machine Gun Mount (UMGM)''' system installed on all CT-32 family vehicles. | |||
The reserve pool is controlled at battalion level and distributed dynamically based on convoy threat conditions, operational requirements, and route security needs. | |||

=== Operational Use === | |||
The Battalion Auxiliary Weapons Reserve is intended for: | |||
* convoy defense | |||
* ambush response | |||
* route security | |||
* recovery operation overwatch | |||
* emergency perimeter defense | |||
* temporary reinforcement of support vehicles | |||
* limited emergency anti-aircraft support | |||
These weapons are doctrinally considered temporary mounted support systems rather than permanently assigned combat vehicle armament. | |||
---- | |||
=== UMGM Compatibility === | |||
All CT-32 family vehicles are equipped with the '''Universal Machine Gun Mount (UMGM)''' system. | |||
The UMGM is capable of mounting: | |||
* Light machine guns | |||
* Medium machine guns | |||
* Heavy machine guns | |||
* Arrow I launcher tubes | |||
This allows battalion support and sustainment vehicles to rapidly increase defensive firepower during movement or emergency operations without requiring specialized vehicle conversions. | |||

== Battalion Deployment Doctrine == | == Battalion Deployment Doctrine == | ||
The | The Mobile Infantry Battalion operates under a doctrine of rapid movement, immediate entrenchment, and distributed defensive consolidation. | ||
Standard operational sequence: | |||
# Rapid motor movement behind breakthrough forces | |||
# Dismount and local security establishment | |||
# Heavy weapons displacement to supporting positions | |||
# Immediate entrenchment and obstacle preparation | |||
# Truck relocation to concealed dispersed positions | |||
# Establishment of layered defensive fires | |||
# Sustainment redistribution from battalion and company reserves | |||
# Casualty stabilization and rearward evacuation to brigade assets | |||
# Absorption and defeat of enemy counterattack | |||
The battalion is not intended to operate as a static garrison. Its strength lies in controlled mobility, rapid consolidation, decentralized sustainment, and the ability to transform recently seized ground into a defensible position within hours. | |||

* Company transport and company drivers remain organic to their companies. | |||
* Battalion Transport Section controls only battalion-level CT-family drivers. | |||
* [[UV-32 Mule|UV-32 Mules]] do not require dedicated drivers. | |||
* CT-32-AA vehicles are self-contained combat vehicles. | |||
* Wreckers and bridge-builder vehicles are self-contained engineer vehicles. | |||
* Medical stabilization occurs at battalion level; hospital treatment is handled at brigade. | |||
* Vehicle recovery responsibility rests with the Engineer Section, supported by the Transport Section motor pool. | |||
* Distributed sustainment remains mandatory across all battalion elements. | |||

Mobile Infantry Battalion
A Mobile Infantry Battalion is the primary battalion-level maneuver formation of the Army of Gondara. Built around rapid motor movement, immediate entrenchment, distributed sustainment, and layered battalion firepower, the formation is designed to reinforce breakthrough operations, secure contested terrain, and absorb enemy counterattack until brigade-level sustainment and follow-on forces arrive.
The battalion is designed under the Gondaran doctrine that violence wins battles; endurance wins wars. Its rifle companies provide the primary maneuver body, while battalion-level heavy weapons, skirmishers, engineers, medical support, signals, sustainment, and transport sections extend the formation’s ability to fight as a coherent independent force for approximately forty-eight hours.

Battalion Auxiliary Weapons Reserve
The Mobile Infantry Battalion maintains a reserve pool of crew-served weapons intended for convoy defense, emergency perimeter security, ambush response, and temporary reinforcement of transport vehicles during movement operations.
These weapons are not assigned to dedicated combat sections and do not increase battalion manpower requirements. Instead, they are mounted as needed using the built-in Universal Machine Gun Mount (UMGM) system installed on all CT-32 family vehicles.
The reserve pool is controlled at battalion level and distributed dynamically based on convoy threat conditions, operational requirements, and route security needs.
Reserve Weapons Inventory
| Weapon | Quantity | Ammunition Per Weapon | Total Ammunition |
|---|---|---|---|
| VMG-33 | 12 | 1,000 rounds | 12,000 rounds |
| HMG-34 | 8 | 1,000 rounds | 8,000 rounds |
| Total | 20 Weapons | 20,000 Rounds |
Operational Use
The Battalion Auxiliary Weapons Reserve is intended for:
- convoy defense
- ambush response
- route security
- recovery operation overwatch
- emergency perimeter defense
- temporary reinforcement of support vehicles
- limited emergency anti-aircraft support
These weapons are doctrinally considered temporary mounted support systems rather than permanently assigned combat vehicle armament.
UMGM Compatibility
All CT-32 family vehicles are equipped with the Universal Machine Gun Mount (UMGM) system.
The UMGM is capable of mounting:
- Light machine guns
- Medium machine guns
- Heavy machine guns
- Arrow I launcher tubes
This allows battalion support and sustainment vehicles to rapidly increase defensive firepower during movement or emergency operations without requiring specialized vehicle conversions.
Battalion Deployment Doctrine
The Mobile Infantry Battalion operates under a doctrine of rapid movement, immediate entrenchment, and distributed defensive consolidation.
Standard operational sequence:
- Rapid motor movement behind breakthrough forces
- Dismount and local security establishment
- Heavy weapons displacement to supporting positions
- Immediate entrenchment and obstacle preparation
- Truck relocation to concealed dispersed positions
- Establishment of layered defensive fires
- Sustainment redistribution from battalion and company reserves
- Casualty stabilization and rearward evacuation to brigade assets
- Absorption and defeat of enemy counterattack
The battalion is not intended to operate as a static garrison. Its strength lies in controlled mobility, rapid consolidation, decentralized sustainment, and the ability to transform recently seized ground into a defensible position within hours.
Doctrine Notes
- Company transport and company drivers remain organic to their companies.
- Battalion Transport Section controls only battalion-level CT-family drivers.
- UV-32 Mules do not require dedicated drivers.
- CT-32-AA vehicles are self-contained combat vehicles.
- Wreckers and bridge-builder vehicles are self-contained engineer vehicles.
- Medical stabilization occurs at battalion level; hospital treatment is handled at brigade.
- Vehicle recovery responsibility rests with the Engineer Section, supported by the Transport Section motor pool.
- Distributed sustainment remains mandatory across all battalion elements.
