The company consists of three Assault Platoons, one Heavy Weapons Platoon, and a Company Headquarters element.

Supply and Sustainment Load

The Headquarters Reserve Carrier carries enough ammunition to resupply every infantry soldier in the company once. This includes rifle ammunition, LMG ammunition, grenades, and grenade launcher ammunition sufficient to restore the assault squads to their standard combat load.

The vehicle also carries company ration reserves and medical supplies. Bulk water is carried in the 500-gallon water buffalo towed by the Headquarters Reserve Carrier.

The Fast-Drop Supply Trailer attached to the AV-35-CC carries additional company stores and may be detached during short halts before combat.

Doctrine

The Assault Company is designed to strike a company-sized objective with overwhelming local force. Each Assault Platoon functions as an independent objective-taking element, while the Heavy Weapons Platoon provides direct fire, anti-armor capability, smoke, illumination, and heavy mortar fire.

The Company Commander normally retains direct control of the AV-35-MC mortar carriers, using them to suppress anti-armor threats, reduce strongpoints, and maintain assault momentum. The tank section may be massed or assigned to support an assault platoon depending on battlefield conditions.

The Headquarters Reserve Carrier preserves company combat endurance by carrying protected reserve ammunition, rations, and medical supplies. It also serves as an emergency replacement carrier if an AV-35-C is lost during combat.
