Canon & Governance

★ Foundational Canon

This document defines the canonical authority structure of the Gondaran Archive. All other pages within the wiki ultimately defer to the standards defined here.

The purpose of this system is to preserve internal consistency while allowing the world of Gondara to grow organically.

This archive is intended to function as both a historical record and a living chronicle of the Gondaran world.

Canon Authority System

All pages within the Gondaran Archive fall into one of four authority levels.

These levels define how strongly the information on a page is considered canon.

◆ Foundational Doctrine

Foundational Doctrine defines the core truths of Gondara.

These documents establish facts that other pages must respect and cannot contradict.

Examples include:

These documents function as the highest doctrinal layer of the world.

◆ Structural Canon

Structural Canon describes the institutions, systems, and structural records that operate within Gondara.

These pages define how major structures function but may expand over time as the world develops.

Examples include:

The framework described in these pages is considered stable.

◆ Cultural Doctrine & Record Cultural Doctrine & Record pages document lived practice, cultural reasoning, and interpretive structures within Gondara.

These pages provide narrative depth, institutional explanation, and social context.

Examples include:

Interpretation and expansion are permitted so long as they do not contradict higher authority.

◆ Frontier Lore Frontier Lore contains developing or exploratory material.

These pages may describe rumors, emerging discoveries, provisional concepts, or unrefined systems.

They are preserved within the archive for future development.

Frontier Lore may later be promoted into higher levels of canon once the information becomes established.

Authority Rules

  1. Higher authority overrides lower authority.
  2. No lower-tier page may contradict a higher-tier document.
  3. Structural changes require full rewrite rather than patch insertion.
  4. Canon is not permanently locked until uploaded as an authoritative Master Document.

All canonical stability follows the Gondaran Master Document Governance Protocol.

Archive Philosophy

The Gondaran Archive is designed to function more like a historical record than a technical database.

Entries should aim to preserve atmosphere, narrative depth, and cultural richness while still maintaining internal logical consistency.

The goal of the archive is not only to document Gondara, but to allow readers to experience the world as if studying a living civilization.
