Inner Vidar Range
The Inner Vidar Range is the eastern mountain system of the Vidar Mountain System and forms a long, continuous mountain spine running parallel to Gondara’s western coastline.
It defines the western boundary of the Wilds and separates the interior swamp and jungle systems from the coastal plains, creating one of the most significant ecological and hydrological gradients on the continent.
Geographic Extent
The Inner Vidar Range extends from approximately 30°00′S southward to approximately 42°30′S, forming a continuous north–south mountain spine along Gondara’s western mainland.
It forms the western boundary of the Novak Steppe and the Wilds, while its western slopes descend toward broader coastal plains and shoreline systems.
Geomorphology
The Inner Vidar Range is characterized by a continuous ridgeline structure with irregular branching formations and extensive drainage systems.
Unlike the more uniform Outer Vidar Range, the Inner Vidar is defined by:

- Numerous valleys and drainage channels
- Strong elevation gradients toward the east
Western Slopes
The western side of the range descends toward Gondara’s western coastline through a series of valleys and foothills that open into fertile coastal plains.
These plains vary in width along the range:
- Narrow and rugged in the north
- More expansive and fertile in central regions
- Broader and more irregular in the south
This coastal zone supports more stable conditions and is suitable for limited agriculture and settlement, particularly in the northern and central sections .These western slopes transition into a broader coastal plain in the central and southern regions, supporting more stable settlement and agricultural development compared to the interior-facing slopes.
Eastern Slopes
The eastern slopes of the Inner Vidar Range drop sharply into the Wilds, forming a steep environmental boundary between mountainous terrain and swamp and jungle systems.
The foothills of the range meet the outer rim of the Wilds directly, creating an abrupt transition between ecosystems.
Hydrology
The Inner Vidar Range functions as a major source of runoff feeding the Wilds.

Titanwood presence within the Inner Vidar is limited to its northernmost extent near the Titanwood Cathedral.
South of approximately 32°00′S, Titanwood does not occur within the Inner Vidar Range.
Southern Ecology
In regions south of 32°S:
- Titanwood is entirely absent
- Vegetation consists of smaller, non-dominant forest systems
- Conditions transition toward drier and more exposed environments
The western slopes of most of the range are also largely free of Titanwood, further distinguishing the Inner Vidar from the forest-dominated Outer Vidar Range.
Wolf Creek Pass
The primary crossing of the Inner Vidar Range is Wolf Creek Pass, located at approximately:

Wolf Creek Pass is a high-altitude, narrow, and hazardous crossing that connects the Novak Steppe to the western coastal systems.
Unlike Vidar Pass, it does not support ecological continuity and is characterized by harsh terrain, exposure, and limited accessibility.
